Bareboat Yacht Charters

Sail into Freedom and Adventure on Your Terms with a Bareboat Yacht Charter

Welcome to the exciting realm of bareboat yacht charters, where you’re not just a passenger, but the captain and the crew, setting your course and charting your adventures.

Are you an experienced skipper?

The bareboat yacht charter is for you, the independent sailor who enjoys control over your boat, sailing at your own pace along your route. Meet the criteria, then follow an initial briefing and captain, you are on your way!

If not, we can offer a skipper!

Most yachts offer a fully qualified and experienced skipper at an additional cost. Please remember that the skipper will require a cabin and be included in mealtimes. Some catamarans have crew cabins in the front, which will suffice. The skipper will require a few helping hands during the sail, adding to the fantastic experience. A hostess to assist with the cooking and cleaning is also a popular addition.

Our Passion Is Sailing!

Freedom of choice, total independence and absolute unrestricted outside influences are the benefits that accompany a bareboat charter. You select a vessel, set your own pace and sail your route towards your favourite destination. Enjoy swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing on the deck with your friends. Exploring isolated beaches and finding idyllic harbours at seaside villages are all up for grabs on a bareboat charter.

The person who will take charge of the vessel must have sufficient experience to skipper the boat and have a skipper license to verify his ability. Check with us for more details. Remember, there is no crew, so cooking and cleaning are your responsibility, but choosing meals and eating times are all yours.

We offer professional skippers if you or anyone in your party does not have sailing qualifications to charter the vessel independently. You can gain sailing experience as the skippers are more than happy to teach you the basics skills and let you take the wheel from time to time. It’s all part of the fun.

Obligatory payments

The obligatory payment required on check-in at the base before the charter is referred to as the ‘Charter Pack’, ‘Comfort Package’, or the ‘Transit Log’, depending upon the agency or country.

The Charter Pack usually covers all minor incidentals, from cleaning fees to the outboard engine, toilet paper and washing-up equipment. The Charter Pack contents vary depending on the agency, country or yacht owner.

Below is a typical list included or charged separately as optional extras in the Charter Pack:

  • Final cleaning

Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA)
Applied to crewed yacht charters, the APA covers provisioning (food and drink), mooring fees, fuel and other costs incurred on your charter. The APA is usually between 20-35% of the charter cost. Anything not spent, you’ll get back at the end of your charter.
