Catamarans are the ideal and the preferred choice of yacht for a Seychelles bareboat yacht charter. Because catamarans have a shallow draft you can go and cruise and anchor in areas that monohulls can’t get into. The draft on catamaran varies from 1 to 4 feet depending on the size of the cat, allowing sailors to explore all the islands in the Seychelles.
Mahé, is an excellent starting point to explore over 100 islands with a Seychelles bareboat yacht. Surrounded by three National Marine Parks, this exotic yacht cruising ground is abundant with coral reefs, wildlife and pristine white-sand beaches. Visit the capital of Seychelles, Victoria, for colonial charm and shopping.
Seychelles present excellent cruising grounds with well protected harbours and anchorages. Most bareboat yacht charterers cruise between Mahe and La Digue, the island group of Praslin and Coco Islands. Seychelles offer excellent winds throughout the year. The winter months consistently have NW winds between 10-15 knots, while the summer months produce SE winds between 20-25 knots and choppier seas. Short time periods during the fall and spring seasons offer less consistent winds.
