M/Y SEACLUSION Crew Profile
CAPTAIN MICHAEL DILLON
Captain Michael Dillon did not develop a passion for boats, he was born with it in his blood. Michael grew up in the marine industry and has been working on boats as far back as he can remember. His father and grandfather worked with boats and were renowned in their field. As a child, Michael was always in or on the water, boating, fishing and diving. Relocating from New York, his father leased space in a boatyard in Stuart, Florida. With Michael as his young assistant, he developed a reputation for exquisite refinishing work that spread all the way to owners located far north on the eastern seaboard.
Michael took a hiatus from the marine industry, first as an enlisted man in the armed forces and subsequently in restaurant construction. However, when an opportunity to work in the yachting industry presented itself he did not look back. As Captain of a sport fishing yacht in the Bahamas he enjoyed both deep sea and bone fishing and enthusiastically shares his knowledge and favorite spots with his charter guests. Michael has been running boats in the Bahamas for years and now owns a home in this paradise.
There is no better guide than a local. Knowing these islands so well, Michael is uniquely qualified to customize a charter perfectly suited to individual preferences. Whether your passion is conch fishing or lobster fishing, snorkeling or diving, or you are an avid bird watcher, beachcomber or history buff, you’ll be amazed at how much there is to see and do in the Abacos with Michael at the helm.
COOK/STEW FRANCSCA NEWBOLD
Francesca is easy going, fun-loving, and an excellent cook. The ocean has always been a huge part of her life, with idyllic childhood days spent playing in the surf, fishing, snorkeling and boating. She grew up in a family involved in both the yachting and hospitality industries in South Florida, but is a third-generation Bahamian. She knows everyone and everything about the islands. If you enjoy interactive charters, being in the islands with Francesca is a bit like coming home for the holidays. Just about everyone is a friend or a relative.
In addition to working on yachts, Francesca spent several years working in the hospitality industry. She loves meeting people, making new friends, and sharing her favorite places and activities with her guests. Living on Abaco she knows the best of the best happening at any given moment. For ladies who prefer to leave the fishing to the men, she can take the gals to the coolest Tiki bar, or souvenir shopping, or to get a great massage. She’s also “a shell and sea glass freak” who happily walks the beach for miles.
Francesca’s favorite menus are Italian and local fare prepared with only the freshest ingredients. On charter in the Bahamas there’s always fresh catch of the day. Michael enjoys cooking the fish while Francesca prepares all the complimentary delights. This crew describe themselves as foodies, so whether you are dining aboard or ashore, expect a mouth-watering experience. In addition to fine food, insuring that every day on charter is unforgettable is a talent they have perfected.
